Robert van Doorn
Mr. van Doorn is a mining engineer with over 40 years of experience in mining and mining finance and has been a director of Romarco Minerals Ltd. until its acquisition by OceanaGold Corp. for approximately C$856 million in 2015. During his time at Romarco, Romarco advanced the Haile Gold project in South Carolina from exploration stage to a shovel-ready open-pit gold mine with an expected output of over 500,000 ounces of gold production in 2017. Prior to that, Mr. van Doorn has been Executive Vice President of Business Development for Rio Narcea Gold Mines S.L. (a public company with projects in Spain and Mauritania) where Mr. van Doorn was instrumental in the acquisition of the Tasiast project in Mauritania (now a producing mine owned by Kinross). Mr. van Doorn has also been a Senior Mining Analyst at Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon, a Global Gold Analyst at Morgan Stanley and a Business Development Manager at Royal Dutch Shell. Mr. Van Doorn’s achievements include investment recommendations and financing of successful exploration companies such as Great Basin Gold, Pangea Minerals Ltd., Platexco Inc., Argentina Gold and Arequipa, whose discoveries have been developed into major mines. As the chairman of the board of TriMetals, Mr. van Doorn is determined to ensure that TriMetals’ Goldsprings project follows the same successful path.
Mr. van Doorn was recently Chairman, President & CEO of Mundoro Mining Inc. (now Mundoro Capital) and Executive Vice President of Golden China Resources Corporation (a joint venture with Kingsway Capital, a Hong Kong merchant bank, involved in Chinese mining investments). Mr. van Doorn is currently a director of Cardero Resources and was previously a director of Leydenburg Platinum, Hana Mining and Golden China.
President and CEO & Director
Mr. Edwards has worked for major and junior public companies with projects in Canada, the United States, Ecuador, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Argentina and Peru. He most recently served as President & CEO of Lupaka Gold Corp. where he directed that company through its IPO, and guided growth through its strategic corporate acquisition of Andean American Gold Corp.
Mr. Edwards other past corporate positions include President of Ventura Gold Corp. that was acquired by International Minerals Inc., Vice President & CFO of Andean Resources which was acquired by Goldcorp, Vice President & CFO of Queenstake Resources which was acquired by Yukon Nevada Gold. Mr. Edwards was CFO for Ivanhoe Mines, joining the company while still private and taking it through its IPO on the TSX, project debt financing, copper offtake and corporate acquisitions.
Mr. Edwards professional experience includes more than 15 years in open-pit and underground mines in various operations capacities with Kinross, TVX Gold, Minorco, Rio Tinto, and Nerco Minerals. including Mine Manager at the underground TVX Gold Mineral Hill Mine in Montana. Mr. Edwards has a B.S. (Honours) in Geology from Utah State University and an Masters in Business Administration from University of Utah.
Mr. Canton is an independent consultant for international companies in marketing, finance and real estate. As a director of a number of Swiss companies, he brings to the Board extensive experience in accounting and finance.
Ms. Woodside is a managing partner with the Canadian law firm Gowling WLG (formerly Smith Lyons LLP) with over 20 years experience advising Canadian and foreign companies involved in the mining sector on a wide range of matters including public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. She has her B.A. and LL.B from Queen’s University, is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors/Rotman School of Business Directors’ Education Program and has been awarded the designation “ICD.D” (certified director).
Mr. Roman Mironchik is a Managing Director of Izurium Capital, a London based private equity firm. Prior to Izurium, he worked on European TMT transactions in the London office of Francisco Partners, a leading US-based private equity fund. Before moving to Francisco Partners, Mr. Mironchik worked on direct equity investments and structured lending for RP Capital Group, a London based hedge fund. Mr. Mironchik started his career with Merrill Lynch’s London Investment Banking division, where he was involved in the execution of various M&A and financing transactions. Mr. Mironchik graduated with a First Class Honours degree in BSc Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Mr. Sheehan brings a background focused on international finance and was the CEO and a founder of Thaddeus Capital Limited, a Hong Kong–based hedge fund. He was also previously associated with ING Bank NV in Hong Kong and with Lehman Brothers Asia where he was a Vice President and co-head of Asian bank research. Mr. Sheehan has been both an investor and lender in multi-commodity resource projects throughout Asia, Africa and South America. Mr. Sheehan’s education includes a BA in economics from the University of Albany, State University of New York, and a Masters Degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management. He also completed course work in Financial Risk Management at New York University.
Mr. Dario is a financial consultant with more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance and asset management. He is a member of management and board of directors in various companies in the financial and investment sector. He formerly worked in executive positions with UBS AG and Bankinvest AG, Zurich. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of PHZ Bank Zurich AG. Victor Dario holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
